Zativo caters to private customers only, and does not supply commercial or industrial growers with large amounts of cannabis seeds. If we have reason to suspect that the ordered seeds are destined for growing cannabis on a larger-than-private scale, we reserve the right to dismiss that specific order.
Making sure you have a clear, precise set of goals before you start up a cannabis grow room is extremely important. You also need to ask yourself are you capable of achieving them? There is no point lying to yourself here, you are the only one who will suffer with sub-par end results. It is very important to manage your expectations well from the beginning. However, outlining clear and achievable goals is half the battle, if you do it you will be already be well on your way to a successful grow.
So what do you need to consider? Well there are quite a few things to look at, but what we cannot stress enough is that research is key – you can never do enough.
First things first, what is the main aim of your grow? Are you looking to grow one or many plants? Will the emphasis be on high potency, large yields or quick grow times? Or maybe a mix? Are you looking to grow an everyday strain, or are you looking for something a bit more special and exotic? Do you want a crop with high medicinal value? These are all questions you need to ask yourself before you even consider the grow room itself. There are no right or wrong answers, but by answering some of these questions you will be able to tailor your grow to them.
Not only do you need to consider the type of crop you wish to grow, but also the type of grower you want to be. By getting that clear in your head you will easily be able to answer the previous questions. Are you going to be a cash cropper, only interested in a quick turn around? Are you a medical grower looking to grow a personal supply of potent bud? Or are you a recreational connoisseur in the making, trying to grow your own top quality weed and rid yourself of your connection to the criminal black market?
Clearly defining what you are and what you expect out of your grow will lay down the foundations for you and your crop to thrive.
Now that you have a good idea of the type of strains you are going to be growing you need to consider your grow room and your situation. Is the ceiling high enough and is there enough room to house the strain. If you pick a slow flowering haze, will you have the 14 or so week to dedicate to its care? Have you factored in the maintenance costs for the size of your crop, such as electricity bills? Have you researched into adequate lighting types and ventilation? Making sure that you have researched the traits of your strain and your subsequent ability to grow and care for it are very important – you don’t want any nasty surprises down the line such as finding you do not have adequate space and your crop becomes stunted as a result.
Another very important issue is discretion and the legal implications of your grow. Are you in a secure location? Is your ventilation adequate? Are you aware of the legal implications of the amount you are growing? Do you know your legal rights? Are you a relaxed or tight-lipped person? Is anyone likely to find your site? Is there anyone you can trust with knowledge of your grow site? What are the fire risks? It may all sound very over the top and boring, but safety and discretion are very important. If you get caught because you were sloppy then you are not only hurting yourself, but also giving the entire cannabis community as a whole a bad rep. Use your common sense and keep away from the public and you should hopefully be fine.
This all may seem very over the top, but laying the foundations of a good grow with decent research into high quality genetics and preparation will make your life a lot easier in the long run - you will have already done 80% of the hard work! Once you have had a decent grow, the pride and enjoyment you will feel will be undeniable – there will be no looking back.
